Would you get the )*#$)#$* police out here now! (he does not consider it is 2am on a stormy night and his island is 45 minute flight time if you can get a plane or helicopter up in the air) I mean it lady, I want the #)$*)#$* officers now.
I explained that I would get a trooper enroute as soon as I could get a helicopter in the air as there is no landing strip for a plane and the water to rough for the sea plane.
He said "what the )#$*#)$* are we suppose to do until he gets here. I suggested he get together a bunch of the loggers and contain the subject until we could arrive.
It took about an hour for the helicopter to be able to fly and off the trooper went,. When they landed on the island the sun was just coming up. He was met at the landing pad by a couple of loggers who escorted him up towards some houses and there wrapped like a mummy with heavy logging ropes tied to a tree in the heavy downpour of rain was the suspect.
He was arrested and taken to jail with several signed complaints and pictures of the damage he had done to property and people. Just for information he had never found his girlfriend.
Alaska State Troopers are great and they have to respond to calls several hundred miles from any backup in all kinds of weather conditions.
One of my favorite places to work. Alaska State Troopers valued your work and showed it. They paid good as they felt if you wanted good employees you had to pay for it. I wanted to start there first as they were my favorite employers not only for the way I was treated but for the variety and challenge of the job. Thanks Alaska for starting me out in my career the right way.
