Today is a sad day for law enforcement as we bury one of the best Sheriff's that ever lived.
Sheriff Ham Perkins was the type of sheriff everyone wishes their community had. He cared about every person in that community. He tried to always treat everyone respectfully no matter why he was dealing with them.
He was a fair and honest boss and those are hard to come by.
He also made the sheriff’s department a family. He started a posse, we had BBQ’s, picnics, Christmas parties and just plain old fun together.
I am sad but also celebrating his life as that is what he would want. He never wanted to bring pain to anyone. He would love the fact that this was a day to celebrate his life and career. Time for memories to be shared, laughter to be shared and love to be shared.
RIP Ham, we will never forget you.
