On this Christmas Eve I set here remembering how we used to give the location of Santa over the police radio on Christmas Eve and the kids would listen for their area in Ketchikan. One of the local helicopter pilots would fly over and had lights on his helicopter and he would drop candy out of it for the kids. They would listen for their neighborhood and then run outside hoping to get some candy. It was a great tradition.
I want to thank all the emergency workers for giving up your time with your families to keep us safe. For all the people that keep the world going where the rest of us can be with our families. Thank you for the job you do. For our troops overseas, thank you for the job you do keeping us safe. Thank you to your families for going through the season without you.
All I can do is hope and pray that all of you remain safe and get to go home to your families as that is the greatest gift of all.
Thank you again for the job you do! you are a special group of people
